Bill was a great guy who loved the kids at Canfield. What a professional who was the best substitute that I could ask for! He was my substitute when I was out of school for a long period as I had brain surgery! I don't think my class missed a beat while I was gone. He will be truly missed by the 6th grade and all the others at Canfield Middle school! Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family!

Dear Sperati Family,

I'm Eva, the youngest daughter of Tom Dittrich, Jr. and Josie Weaver Dittrich. I'm so sorry for the loss of Billy...I know we didn't know each other, but I have recently heard a lot about him, particularly how family- and community-oriented he was. I wish I had known him, and I sincerely hope that I can get to know your family from this point on.

Lots of love from the Dittrichs xoxo

Mr. Sperati had the best personality. He was kind, had a great sense of humor, and made class a great joy. I experienced having him as a substitute while I attended Canfield Village Middle School. My grandfather and my father were friends with him and they would golf together. He and I would cross paths in the hallways at school and he had such a way of brightening my day with his cheerful attitude. It breaks all of our hearts to hear that a greatly respected man in our lives has gone, but we know that he is now healed and will live on in our hearts. I regret not being able to see him one last time. I will always keep the memory of his kind face and the character that lifted our spirits. Prayers are sent up to him and his grieving family. I'm very sorry for this great loss.
--Rest in peace Mr. Sperati. I miss you already. You were a great friend. We'll keep in touch.

Our hearts are saddened learning of Bill's passing. We played golf together in July of 2009 at Geneva on the Lake. Linda and I had the great pleasure to be his neighbor for 11 years in McDonald, Ohio. I remember going to high school with Bill at Girard High in the late 1960's. He was a super guy to be around and will be missed by many.

It would take the entire obit page to say all of the assets Bill was to this valley. I went to girard high with him. I worked at GM with him and we both moved to Mcdonald to raise our families. When ever I needed help with anything, He was there physically or just to talk. Also one time when a bunch of us wre going to an Indians game I needed a D.D.Out of eight people in the van Bill was the one to drive. The only one trusted to get us home save. I have not seen him since we retired but I still miss him and cannot imagine what the family is going through. My prayers and thoughts are with your whole family at this time.
