Barbara Jean (Comichisto) Gallagher

Barbara Jean Gallagher, 84, of Girard, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Liberty HealthCare.

Barbara was born July 9, 1939 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter to Ralph and Rose (Funge) Comichisto.

She is a 1957 graduate of Girard High School and has been a lifelong Girard resident.

Barbara was dedicated to caring and tending to her family and their home.

She enjoyed going to casinos, and was an excellent cook. She loved cheering on her favorite teams which were the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her children, Wendy (Ray) Ragozzine of Girard, Michael (Kristen) Gallagher of Girard and Martin (Shana) Gallagher Jr.of Pickerington, OH; sister-in-laws Tillie and Stella Comichisto; and grandchildren who were the absolute joy of her life, Kali (Mike Dulaney), Caitlyn, Jacob, and Raymond Ragozzine III.

Along with her parents Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Martin Gallagher, who she married September 26, 1959 and lived happily until his passing on September 23, 2023; sisters, Mary “Josephine” Piganelli and Carmel Walker; and brothers, Thomas Comichisto and Joseph Comichisto.

In accordance with Barbara’s wishes a private service was held for the family.
