Barbara J. (Gemik) Boyd

Barbara J. Boyd, 79, of Girard passed away Tuesday at Vista Care Center in Mineral Ridge. Barbara was born June 13, 1938 in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of Michael and Helen (Wasickanin) Gemik.

Barbara had previously worked for the Trumbull Board of Education, JoAnn Fabrics, in Liberty Twp., and had retired from St. Rose Church, where she had worked for all the printing and publications. She was a member of St. Rose Church, had volunteered for St. Vincent DePaul and Mt. Carmel Society and was a former Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader. Barbara enjoyed her many crafts, loved all her animals and was a avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Findley K. Boyd Jr., whom she married November 18, 1967, and her sons, Findley K. Boyd III and his beloved companion Christine O'Keefe of Cleveland  and Timothy M. Boyd and his wife Antionette of Girard.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Michael Gemik. A Memorial service will be held on  Thursday, August 17th, 7:00 PM  at Blackstone Funeral Home.  The family requests any memorial contributions be made to Animal Welfare League, 812 Youngstown-Kingsville Rd.
