Bernard D. "Bernie" Desmond Jr.

Bernard D. "Bernie" Desmond Jr., 61, of Girard, passed away on April 1, 2017 at the Hospice House in Poland. Bernie was born December 12, 1955 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Bernard D. and Rita (Neff) Desmond Sr. Bernie was a 1974 graduate of Girard High School. He had worked for RTI International as a welder. Bernie loved music, traveling with his wife and made a hobby of enjoying different craft beers. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Joann E. (Carter) Desmond, whom he married May 10, 1980, his daughter, Valerie (Dayton McPeek) Desmond of Monroe, Michigan, son, Christian Desmond of Girard, sister, Colleen Calleen of Hubbard and brother, James (Susan) Desmond of Girard. Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 7th, 7:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 PM until the time of service.
