Beth Ann Altier

Beth Ann Altier died Friday, July 29th at her residence in Girard, Ohio after a fifteen-month battle with pancreatic cancer.  She was born on December 12, 1956, the daughter of Kenneth J. and Nedra G. Altier, in Warren, when the family lived in Newton Falls.  She graduated from Girard schools and from Clarion College in Pennsylvania with a major in library science and managed school and corporate libraries in Ohio, Oklahoma, and California.  She was a devout Christian and was a member of Victory Christian Center where she was in the choir and did volunteer work.  Four years ago she returned to Girard to be with her aged mother, Nedra Altier, who surives her.  She also leaves one sister Mary and her husband John Walker of LaSelva Beach, California, three brothers: Mark and wife Sandra of Troy, Craig and wife Maureen of Freeville, N.Y. , and Shawn and wife Dominique of Paris, France, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.  Her brother Paul and father Kenneth preceded her in death.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 6th, 11:30 AM, at the Blackstone Funeral Home, 672 Churchill Rd., Girard (330-539-5955).  Visitation will be 10:00 AM until the time of service, followed by a procession to Girard City Cemetery for interment.
