Charlotte (Schoenfeld) Seidler

Charlotte Seidler, 81, was a life-long resident of Girard., passed away peacefully at her daughters home on  Wednesday August 17, 2011. Charlotte was born June 25, 1930 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Henry and Ann Trnka Schoenfeld.  She was a Registered Nurse and worked for St. Elizabeth Hospital in Labor and Delivery from 1976-1984 and retired from Mahoning County Health Department as a Pre-Natal nurse in 1995.  Charlotte was a member of the Youngstown Council of Catholic Nurses, St. Elizabeth's Nurses Club, Catholic Women's Club of St. Rose Church and a founding member of the Girard Moccasin Flower Club in 1998.  She was a life-long parishoner of St. Rose Church.   She is survived by her six children,  Jean (Rod) Cook with whom she made her home with in Girard, Mary Ann (Dennis) Courtney of Girard, Irene Seidler of Akron, Robert Jr. (Julie) Seidler of Howland, Ohio and Shanghai, China, Martin (Daria) Seidler of Girard, and Kurt (Krissy) Seidler of Columbiana.  She was affectionately known as "Grams" by her grandchildren, Abby, Greg and Christina Cook, Stacey, Dennis Jr., Rachel, Ryan and Sarah Courtney, R J and Cassie Seidler, Adam and Kayla Seidler, Dylan (Payne), Marshall and Evan Seidler.  She was preceded in death by her husband Robert J. Seidler Sr. whom she married October 19, 1957 and died September 30, 1989 and brother Harry Schoenfeld. A Mass of a Christian Burial will be held on Saturday August 20, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Rose Church, preceded by  a prayer service at 9:30 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home.  Family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 5-8 at the funeral home.  Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery.  The family requests any material contributions may be made to Seidman Cancer Center, Dr. Afshin Dowlati Research Fund or Hospice of the Valley.
