Deborah L. Campana, 67, of Liberty Twp., passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospital surrounded by her loving family.  Debbie was born December 27, 1950 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Robert and Eileen (Foley) Fay. She leaves her beloved husband, Bob Campana, whom she married January 31, 1970, her daughters; Kimberly (Jason) Weinell of Girard and Kristine (Mark) Makis of Hubbard, her grandchildren; Chloe, Brandon, Connor and Claire and her sisters; Jill Brown of Liberty and Sharron Cothran of Vienna, Virginia.

Debbie retired from Delphi after thirty years. She was a member of St. Rose Church.

Debbie enjoyed traveling with her husband and family, especially to Florida where she loved the beach.  Her greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her grandchildren. They were her world. She also shared a special bond with her nephew John Robert Cothran from the day he was born. She saw all her children and grandchildren as special gifts from God.

Debbie always put others before herself. Even if that love and kindness didn’t come back to her she would just smile and figure that person may be having a bad day. Her kindness and warmth were natural, never contrived. Her beautiful smile was her best characteristic. She truly did light up a room when she entered. Everyone who knew Debbie loved her.

Debbie handled her illness with great faith, grace and dignity, never once complaining about her misfortune. She was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer from the beginning. She fought hard for 13 years having the grace of God and a guiding hand from Dr. Garg, her oncologist. She wanted anyone who could to contribute to the American Cancer Society so hopefully other families could never experience this dreadful disease.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 20th, 11:00 AM at St. Rose Church preceded by a prayer service at 10:30 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, January 19th from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Debbie will be laid to rest at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield. The family requests any material contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. Visit www.blackstonefuneralhome.com to view this obituary and to send any condolences to the family. A luncheon to honor her life will immediately follow mass on Saturday in the church lower level hall.
