Dolores J (Snyder) Shirey

Dolores J. Shirey, of Girard, passed away on Wednesday at Northside Medical Center. Delores was born January 24, 1936 in Madison Township, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Clarence S. and Helen C. (Mahood) Snyder.

Delores retired from Packard Electric and dedicated herself to being a full-time homemaker. As a homemaker, she took care of her family, including spoiling her grandchildren. Delores was an excellent seamstress and would spend her free time sewing.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children; Greg (Sherry Hugo) Shirey of Niles and Toni (James) Davanzo, her sisters; Patricia (John) Hanna of Niles, Audrey (Art) Gill of South Carolina, Ginger (Don) Ealy of Volant, Pennsylvania, and Cheri (Dana) Caldwell of Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, her brother; Gary (Cindy) Snyder of Kentucky, her four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lewallyn E. Shirey whom she married August 12, 1954 and died February 6, 2011, and her siblings Donna Risch and Donnie Snyder. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 5:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends from 3:00 until the time of service.
