Together Again

Dorothy Lipka Blake, 78, of Niles, formerly of Vienna, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at her residence.

Dorothy was born October 2, 1946 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Martin and Mary (Merrick) Lipka.

Dorothy graduated in 1969 with her Bachelor’s Degree in teaching from Youngstown State University and the University of Tennessee in 1977 with her Master’s Degree.

She then worked for 30 years as a teacher for Liberty school systems, retiring in 1999.

She had been a member of the Lake Milton Boat Club and the Trumbull County Retired Teachers Association.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her nieces, Stacie (Nolan) Cubellis, Paula (Art) Hall, and Laura (Michael) Brennan; nephews, Gregory (Michelle) Lipka, David (Rachael) Webster, and Todd (Tara) Wolf ; great nieces, Mallory Cubellis, Elyce Lipka, Davon and Keeley Webster, Kennedy and Mara Hall; and great nephews, Elia Cubellis, Kaison Lipka, Oscar, William and Patrick Brennan; and her sister in laws, Donna Wear, Barbara Wolf, and Alice Webster.

Besides her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas M. Blake, whom she married June 24, 1978, and who passed on March 27, 2006; and her brother, George Lipka.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 23rd, 12:00PM at Blackstone Funeral Home, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00AM until the time of service.

Dorothy's wishes were that any memorial contributions be made to the person’s charity of choice.
