Edith J. Riggleman, 85, of Girard, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

Edith, affectionately known as Edie, was born January 17, 1940, in Youngstown, Ohio. She was the daughter of Amos and Ethel (Glenn) Houck. Edie married Jesse (Ray) Riggleman on May 2, 1956 in Winchester, Virginia. They were soon to celebrate their 69th wedding anniversary.

Edie devoted herself to her Christian faith and caring for her family. She always looked forward to the family being together, especially when the grandchildren and great grandchildren visited. Each one brought delight and sparkles to her eyes. She was the BEST grandma and was loved very, very, very, very, very, much!

She was a member of Evansville Baptist Church and made church a priority. She joined in many church activities through the years while her health remained.

She is survived by her husband Jesse (Ray) Riggleman Sr., their 7 children: Jesse (Paula) Riggleman Jr. of Hubbard, Ohio, Kevin (Carolyn) Riggleman of Hubbard, Ohio, Diana (Ron) Haese of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Valerie (Jack) Stanton of Liberty, Ohio, Marsha (Jeff) Seivers of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania , Rachel (Michelle) Chester of Austintown, Ohio, and Christina (Joel) Rastelli of Champion, Ohio; 35 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren; siblings, Virginia Culp, Florence Houck, Elsie Race, and Fred (Joan) Houck; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Betty Griffith; brothers, Don Houck, Jack Houck, Dick Houck, and Bob Houck; grandchildren, Lucas Riggleman, Miranda Rastelli, Gordon Haese, and Dennis Riggleman.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Traditions Hospice team for their gentle and loving care provided to Edie. Sebrina and Dee were truly remarkable, and Edie's family will forever remember their dedication and compassion.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, April 21st from 4-7PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd, 11:00 AM at Evansville Baptist Church in Niles, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM until the time of service.

Edie will be laid to rest at Girard City Cemetery.
