Edward M Esposito

May 23, 1936 — May 16, 2017

Edward M. Esposito, of Liberty, died one week before his 81st birthday on Tuesday May 16, 2017.  He was able to pass on in peace, while listening to the wind chimes outside his open door at home.  Edward was born on May 23, 1936 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Charles and Veronica (Sveda) Esposito. He was so healthy until the last month of his life, that his family doctor got him a shirt which read, “It only took me 80 years to look so good, so happy, and so young!”  He held several jobs throughout his life, including his military service in the Army.  He worked as a Gardener, a Produce Manager, and a Custodian for Liberty Schools, retiring in 2004.  He was a member of First Christian Church in Girard.

He spent his days gardening.  He was known as “Mr. Garlic,” planting thousands of cloves by hand each year.  He spent his days golfing.  Among those he golfed with was a special group of young men he’s known since grade school.  They all visited him in the ICU as he fought to get well.  He spent his days bowling.  He will miss telling all of his friends in his Monday morning league at McKinley Heights Bowling Alley what they are doing wrong and how to improve their score.  He spent his days loving.  He loved his family, his friends, his dogs.  He loved life and lived each day to share that love.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Carol (Rosasco) Esposito, whom he married October 19, 2008, his children; Edward M. (Kathleen) Esposito of Dayton, Christine E. (Michael) Crosby of Farmdale, and Laurie L. (James) Harley of Girard, step-children; Mark (Angela) Reynolds of Niles, Sheri (Darin) Mullenax of Champion, Jack Reynolds of Warren, sisters Marguerite Violante of Walden, New York and Louise (Tom) Headley of Greensboro North Carolina, brothers; Charles (Eva) Esposito of Niles, Carmen (Amy) Esposito of Austintown, Richard Esposito of Girard, Myron (Renee) Esposito of Girard, and Louis Esposito of Girard, twenty-three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Nancy (Sheppard) Esposito, his brother Michael, his sister Verna, and a great granddaughter, Marina Nicole Baugher.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 26th, 1:00pm at Blackstone Funeral Home, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10 am until time of service.  Visit www.blackstonefuneralhome.com to view this obituary and to send condolences to the family.
