She was a devoted member of Open Door Community Church, where she founded and managed their food giveaway over the last 20 years. Which has newly been renamed Lizzy's Heart Ministries in dedication to her.
Liz also delivered newspapers for the Vindicator for 16 years.
In her spare time, Liz enjoyed various outdoor activities, tending to her plants, camping and fishing. She was an avid animal lover, owning many throughout her life, especially cats.
Liz leaves behind her loving husband, Harry R. Collins, whom she married on November 29, 1980; her children, Summer (Donald Stalnaker) Ylonen, of Girard, Jade Pascarella, of Girard; and Skye (Eric) Freeman, of Girard; grandchildren, Kyle Ylonen, Topher Pascarella, and Quinley Pascarella. She also leaves sisters, Terri Neel, of Alabama; Joan Carter, of New York; and brother, Robert Edwards of New York.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Sue Rudd; brothers, Dennis and Michael Edwards; aunt, Esther Corter; and grandson, Isaac Freeman.
Services for Liz will be held on Saturday, January 24th at noon at Open Door Community Church.
Her family asks that in lieu of flowers, material contributions be made out to Open Door Community Church in donation to the food distribution that she poured her heart into.
