Ethel M. (Myers) Coles

Ethel Myers Coles, 89, of McDonald, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in Girard. Ethel was born March 26, 1928 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Fred and Katherine (Hoffman) Myers. Ethel attended McDonald High School and was the prom queen of the class of 1945.  It was in McDonald where she made her home and raised her children. Ethel retired as an inspector for Packard Electric after a career of 25 years. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Maynard C. Coles, whom she married July 26, 1947, her children; James (Karen) Coles of Henderson, NV, David (Mary Ann) Coles of Austintown, Sandra (Tony) Turk and Susan (Tim) Joyce, both of McDonald, her sisters; Peg Altaffer and Kathy Myers, both of McDonald, brothers; Fred Myers and Timothy Myers, both of McDonald, eight grandchildren; Kelly (Jason) Coles-Santana, Jennifer (Joseph) Coles-Shesko, Jeffery Coles, Eric (Aimee) Coles, Jacquelyn (Jeremy) Coles-Jones, Tony Turk, Ryan (Erin) Turk and Patrick Joyce and great-grandchildren; Nikolai Shesko, Kennedy Jones, Cescie Shesko, Blake (Santana) Backus, Carter Jones, Josslyn Coles and Tessa Coles. Besides her parents, Ethel is preceded in death by her sisters; June Stevens, Judith Ann Myers and Sandra Lynn Myers and her brother Ted Myers.
Ethel always loved spending time with her family.  Sunday dinners were a tradition at Ethel’s. She loved to cook, bake and spoil her family.  She loved socializing, dancing, and a good party.  Holidays were all important to Ethel, especially Christmas Eve.  Ethel’s energy personified her youthful attitude and way of life.  Her spirit was contagious.Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 19th, 6:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home where the family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00 PM until the time of service. Ethel will be laid to rest at Girard City Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Dr. David Delliquadri and his staff for all their kindess and compassion that was shown to Ethel.
