Forest E. Weant

Forest Eugene Weant, 99, of Girard, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Shepherd of The Valley Nursing Home. Gene was born October 25, 1924 in Warren, Ohio, the son of Forest and Anna (Driscoll) Weant.

Gene retired from Republic Steel having worked in the accounting department for many years. He was a member of St. Rose Church and served his country honorably in the US Army during W.W.II.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Pamela Schmalzried, husband James, of Girard; grandchildren, Lori and Mark Mikulka, Lisa and Kris Banks, James T. Schmalzried and Mary and Devin Wasylewych; and seven great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Gene is preceded in death by his wife Pauline Miller Weant, who died July 9, 2008, and his son Terry Weant.

Private services will be held at Blackstone Funeral Home. Gene will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery next to his beloved wife.
