Frances Messuri

Frances D. Messuri, 99, of Girard, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026 at Elmwood Assisted Living in Hubbard, Ohio.

Frances was born February 21, 1927 in Girard, Ohio, the daughter of Frank and Frances (Shirock) Ambrose.

Frances was a lifelong resident of Girard and a member of St. Rose Church. She had worked as an administrative secretary for Girard High School for many years, six years at Girard Sparkle Market and was a substitute teacher for St. Rose School.

She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, where she was past president, vice-president. secretary and treasurer. She also enjoyed her card clubs with her friends, traveling, and especially spending quality time with her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Frank J. (Vicki) Messuri of Girard, and Anthony D. (Pamela) Messuri of Liberty Twp.; grandchildren, Alexis (Marlin) Pearson, Lindsay (Max) Haupt and Frank (Jami) Messuri Jr.; great-grandchildren, Dominick, Addison, Ava and William; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Frances is preceded in death by her husband, Peter J. Messuri, whom she married February 18, 1947 and died August 2, 1980; and her sister, Angela Ezzo.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5th, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 AM at St. Rose Church.

Frances will be laid to rest next to her husband at Calvary Cemetery.
