Gary Rodgers

Gary L. Rodgers, 84, of McDonald, passed away peacefully at the Hospice House in Poland on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Gary was born May 12, 1940, in New Castle, PA. the son of Delmas and Gladys (Stevens) Rodgers. Gary recently celebrated his 84th birthday surrounded by his loving wife, children, and grandchildren.

Gary proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for several years. He was a member of The Elks Lodge and the Eagles Lodge, both of New Castle, and the Girard VFW. He retired from Wean United as a purchasing agent in 1992.

Gary adored his wife of 58 years, Donna. The two shared a love for the beach and ocean, spending several winters together in Florida. He cherished his time with his family and spent many memorable summers on Berlin Lake. He loved golfing, camping, boating, fishing, and water skiing.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Donna L. (Smith) Rodgers, whom he married September 11, 1965; his children, Michelle (Duane) White, of McDonald, Mark (Mindy) Rodgers of Warren, and Lori Barberic, of McDonald; grandchildren, Jason (Stephanie) White, Justin (Katie) White, Jordyn White, Jack and Joey Barberic; and great-grandchildren, Cooper, Beckett, and Olivia White. He is also survived by his sister, Cristin Sochacki of Orlando, FL. Besides his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his brother, William "Bill" Rodgers, and his sisters, Marjorie Rodgers, Rosemary Barcaro, and Delma Eroe.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, May 28th, at 5:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00 PM until the time of service.
