James V. Petrella Jr.

James V. Petrella Jr., 68, of Girard, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Sunday, April 12, 2026.

James was born on November 15, 1957 in Youngstown, Ohio, a son to the late James V. and Angeline “Jeanne” (Saborse) Petrella Sr.

He was a graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and graduated from Youngstown State University.

James had worked for Trumbull County and YMCA in Youngstown.

He was a member of St. Rose Church in Girard.

In his spare time James enjoyed working in the yard and meeting his friends at Dunkin Donuts. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan but above all else he loved his family and spending time with them.

James leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 41 years, Debra (Miranda) Petrella, who he married on September 2, 1983; his daughter, Jenna (Michael) Costantini; brothers, Phillip (Karen) Petrella and Vince Petrella; grandchildren, Olivia, Aiden, Arianna, Adriano and Aviana; along with many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son, James "Jimmy" Petrella; and sister, Linda Petrella.

A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, April 23rd at 11:00 AM at St. Rose Church in Girard.
James will be laid to rest at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to thank Dr. Buccino, Dr. Marina, Dr. Hoffman and the Wound Care Center in Youngstown for the care and compassion that was given to James.
