Services will be held on Thursday November 8, 2011 at 12:00 PM at Woodland Park United Methodist Church for Jane Thorpe who passed away Monday morning at Valley Care Northside with her loving family by her side.  Jane was born in Youngstown on June 20, 1929, the daughter of the late Frank and Theresa Muchway Ferraro, and moved to McDonald in 1942 where she became a lifelong resident.  She attended Rayen High School before moving to McDonald where she was a 1947 Graduate of McDonald High School  Jane worked in the office at the YMCA in Youngstown before taking time off to be a loving mother and raise her family.  In later years she was employed by and retired from Packard Electric in Warren.  Jane was a very loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that made her family her life.  She made everyone feel like they were the "Special One" in her heart even though she loved them all the same.  She leaves to cherish her precious memory, her best friend, soul mate and husband of 62 years Donald H. Thorpe Sr., son Donald H. (Joyce) Thorpe of Berlin Center, OH, daughter Kim Olson of McDonald, four grandchildren Amy (Curt) Hess, Nicole (Jeremy) Bartlett, Ian Olson and Jake Olson and 4 great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Gracie and Molly Hess and Ava Bartlett.  Two sisters Theresa (Frank) Dorten of Lawrenceburg, KY and Shirley (Ed) Moody of McDonald along with many nieces and nephews.  Because of her genuine kindness and wonderful personality, Jane will be truely missed by every heart she touched.  Besides her parents Jane was preceded in death by a sister Marie Monahan and a brother James Ferraro.  Family and friends may call from 5-8 PM Wednesday at the Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.  Funeral services will begin at 11:30 AM on Thursday at the funeral home and continue at 12:00 PM at Woodland Park United Methodist Church on Ohio Ave in McDonald.  Memorial contributions can be made in Jane's name to The Silver Lining Fund c/o The Hope Center for Cancer Care, 835 Southwestern Run, Boardman, Ohio  44514.  To view and obituary and to send condolences to the Thorpe family visit www.blackstonesfh.com
