Joseph S. Gregori

Joseph S. Gregori, 80, of Liberty Twp., passed away peacefully on September 11, 2017,  surrounded by his family at Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. Dr. Gregori was born November 15, 1936, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of Otto and Catherine Tarolli Gregori.

He attended undergraduate school in Glenville College, finished Medical School at West Virginia University, and obtained degrees in Religious Studies at Youngstown State University and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, He practiced medicine in Youngstown for 51 years and taught part time at Youngstown State University in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies. He served in the United States Navy in Korea 1966-1968.

He belonged to numerous Medical societies and associations including the Ohio State Medical Society, the Mahoning County Medical Society, and he was a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology. He was a member of the Churchill United Methodist Church and held numerous offices in the church and medical societies.

He leaves his children; Stephen (Michelle) Gregori, of Hurlock, Maryland,  Brian (Terri) Gregori, of Columbus, Ohio, and Jeanne (Roy) Gregori, of Stow, Ohio, his siblings; Joan King, of Wexford, Pennsylvania and Richard (Debbie) Gregori, of Sarver, Pennsylvania, and grandchildren; Kaitlynn, Nicholas, Grace, Max and Megan. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Carolyn K. Gregori,  whom he married June 18, 1961 and died August 13, 2015.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 16th, 11:00 AM, at Churchill United Methodist Church. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 4 - 8:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.
