Judy A. Kowalczyk, 84, of Girard, passed away on Wednesday May 1, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her family. Judy was born July 1, 1939 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of John Vila and Virginia (Fernandez) Vila. Judy retired from Warren General Hospital as the Director in the Admissions Office. Judy was an avid reader, and always enjoyed spending time with her family. Judy leaves to cherish her memory her daughters; Lisa (Oscar) Franco of Lorraine, Ohio, Laura (David) Snyder of Kinsman, Ohio and Carla (Ron) Cario of Girard; brother Bob Vila of Champion; grandchildren, Christian (Nicole) Franco, Sidney(Emily) Snyder, Victoria Franco, Emily (Grant) Nowakowski, Frank (Gia) Rich, Hanna Snyder, William (Anastasia) Rich, Lauren Rich and Alaina Rich; and great grandchildren Shane, Caden, Liliana, Palmer and Eva. Judy is preceded in death by her husband, William "Will" E. Kowalczyk,whom she married November 25, 1961 and died February 4, 2017. Private services here held at Blackstone Funeral Home. Judy will be laid to rest at All Souls Cemetery. The family suggests any memorial contributions in memory of Judy can be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St. Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
