Katherine "Katie" E. Sokol

Katherine "Katie" E. Sokol, 35, of Austintown, Ohio, died on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at her home.

Katie was born June 4, 1990 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Charles and Dana (Ross) Riley.

Katie was a 2009 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School. She loved raising her sons, and was always willing to baby-sit children. Katie loved experimenting with her makeup, hair and nails, and enjoyed coloring for relaxation.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Timothy H. Sokol, whom she married April 7, 2017; her sons, Timothy "TJ" Sokol, and Johnathan Sokol; her father, Charles Riley; sister, Joanna Watson; grandmothers, Cathy Valaquez and Cathy (George) Mrosko; father and mother in law, Joe and Sandra Sokol; brother in law, Joseph (Angie) Sokol II; and many nieces and nephews.

Katie is preceded in death by her mother, Dana Riley, grandfather, John "Rabbitt" Valaquez, and a nephew, Bradley Watson.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, July 1st, from 2:00-4:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. Following the visitation, A Celebration of her Life will continue with a dinner at the American Legion, 11 High St., Girard, Ohio; all are welcome.
