Kathleen Barreca, 69, of Girard, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at her residence. Kathy was born March 2, 1955 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Leo and Angie (Sherock) Barreca. Kathy was a 1973 graduate of Girard High School and a graduate of Youngstown State University with a double Masters Degree in Education and Counseling. She had worked for Eastern Gateway for several years. Kathy was a member of St. Rose Church, It's Altar and Rosary Society and had co-chaired the St. Rose Festival for 14 years. She was also a published author. She is survived by her cousins and close friends. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Carla Barreca, and her aunt, Carmel Welch. Cemetery services will be held on Wednesday, May 8th, 2:30 PM, in Calvary Cemetery, at the mausoleum,where she will be laid to rest with her sister.
