Leslie W. Thomas

Leslie W. Thomas, 92, of Liberty, Ohio, passed away on Friday, May 30th, 2025, at the Liberty Health Care Center.

Leslie was Born on February 15th, 1933, in Liberty Township to Leslie and Trevia (Miller) Thomas.

Leslie, also known as "Les," worked hard at the Local 207 Ironworker's Union to support his family. He was very proud to be an Ironworker, and those who knew him remember him for his exceptional work ethic and dedication to his trade.

Though his demanding job didn't leave much room for hobbies, in his free time, Les was a devoted Ohio State Buckeyes fan, and never missed a game. He would be seen wearing their scarlet and gray colors on any given day of the week.

Along with his parents, Leslie is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Thomas, who passed on November 3rd, 2008; sister June Bowman; and brother, Bill Thomas. 

He is survived by his children, Leslie Thomas, Robert Thomas, April Kirkwood, and Jeff (Stephanie) Thomas; his grandchildren Melanie (Jamie) Battison, Leslie (Stacy) Thomas, Mathew Thomas, Dana (Curtis) Nystrom, and Grant (Chrissy) Kirkwood; Great-grandchildren Hannah Thomas, Piper Nystrom, and Axelia Nystrom; and his sister, Beverly Kocher.

Family and friends can visit Thursday, June 5th, 2025 at 10:00AM, with a service to follow at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard, Ohio.

Leslie will be laid to rest in a family mausoleum at Crown Hill Cemetery in Vienna, Ohio, next to his wife, Beverly.

The family would also like to thank the staff at Liberty Health Care Center for their compassion and care that was given to Les.
