Louis "Lucky Lou" DelBene, 83, of Girard, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Continuing Healthcare following a lengthy illness. Born on August 15, 1940, in Girard at home in Briar Hill, to Louis and Josephine DelBene Sr. He attended The Rayen High School and Girard High School, shaping the foundation for his future endeavors.
During his remarkable career, Louis spent two decades each at Allied Metals and Autumn Hills. Besides his employment, he ventured into entrepreneurship by establishing his floor cleaning company.
Louis was a member of the Trumbull Moose Lodge 186 and The Girard Eagles.
A man of diverse interests, Louis found joy in scuba diving around the world and enjoyed playing the lottery. He was loved by everybody he met but had a small group of great friends.
Louis leaves behind a cherished legacy and is survived by a loving family: son Louis DelBene of Kent; daughter Michelle (Tom) Mazzella of Liberty; son Michael (Fran) DelBene of McDonald; sister Cecilia Flaviani of Liberty; brother Joseph DelBene of McDonald; and 4 grandsons.
Along with his parents, Louis is preceded in death by Phyllis DelBene, whom he raised a family with and spent 27 years together.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 4th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM followed by a memorial service at 7:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.
