Margaret Rose Schesler, 87,passed away peacefully on June 16th, 2024, at the Hospice House, with her family by her side.
Margaret was born January 11, 1937 in Youngstown, the daughter of Wendell and Alma (Sheets) Kennedy. She was a 1955 graduate of Girard High School and worked for the Ohio Bell as a long distance operator. She could always remember a phone number and it was a family joke to see her rip an entire phone book in half by hand. Margaret also taught CCD classes at St. Rose for many years.
Margaret was a member of St. Rose Church in Girard where she married her husband Harry on August 21, 1965. Before her husbands passing in 2022, they were together almost 60 years, and when you saw one, you saw the other. They loved golfing, casino trips, bingo, bowling, playing pinochle, and watching the Cleveland Browns and Guardian games. She would always be proud to tell people of her "Hole-in-One" and being featured on TV for her 640 bowling set.
Margaret loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who were blessed to have her at every school and sporting event., just like she supported her children in everything. Her granddaughters were so fortunate to know her joy for life and her strong Catholic faith.
Margaret was kind, patient, and had an amazing loving heart. She was a loyal friend and cherished her lifelong friendships of over 75 years. They golfed, traveled, bowled and played boccee together, where you would hear the famous "Boccee it out Margaret" cheer for many years. She never had a bad thing to say about anyone and she will forever be known as someone who always showed up for people.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Schesler of Girard, her granddaughters, Sarah Margaret and Katie Ann Terela, a brother, Robert (Margie) Kennedy of McDonald. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, a son Thomas, brothers, Wendall, Ronald, and a sister, Janet Kennedy.
Private services will be held.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions be made to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Rd., Poland, OH 44514, who were so caring and comforting.
