Marlene L O'Neill

Marlene E. O’Neill, 87, of Girard, passed away on Sunday October 11, 2026 at Continuing Health Care, in Mineral Ridge, Ohio.

Marlene was born August 3, 1939 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Chester L. and Sophia (Pinter) Allen.

After raising her children, Marlene worked as an assistant manager for Burger King in Howland Twp. In her younger years Marlene enjoyed bowling and was in several bowling leagues.

She is survived by her children; Karen M. Joiner and her companion Bob Calvin, whom Marlene affectionately called “Mr. Bob”, Allan A. (Alissa) Smail and Melvin L. Smail Jr.; brother, Donald Allen; grandchildren, Jeff Killin, Kristy Killin and Danny Smith; and her great-grandchildren, Justin Creech, Makenna Killin, Alaina Killin and Giavanna Smith.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold “Dick” O’Neill, whom she married August 2, 1971 and died April 26, 2013; daughter, Marlene L. Smail; sisters, JoAnn Miskovch and Mary Lou Allen; and her brothers, Chester Allen, Richard Allen and Edward Allen.

Private funeral services were held on October 16th, at Girard City Cemetery Chapel.
