Mary (Capogreco) Mihalick

Mary F. Mihalick, 82, of Girard, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at her home with her family by her side. Mary was born October 17, 1936, in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Salvatore and Carmella (Irilli) Capogreco. She was a 1956 graduate of Girard High School. Mary graduated from South Side School of X-ray Tech and worked for several physicians in the area. Mary was a member of St. Rose Church, the Herb Society of Girard, Moccasin Flower Garden Club, Mill Creek Master Gardeners, and volunteered her time gardening and decorating at the Barnhisel House in Girard. Mary always had a smile on her face and kind word for everyone. She never complained about  how much it hurt. The staff at the hospital and park vista just loved her. They always said what a kind person she was. She also loved planting tulips at milk creek park in the fall and pulling them in the spring. She worked the Mill Creek flower show every year. She loved cooking and if you didn’t have a place to go, you were always welcome at her table and you never left hungry. She loved making bread and Easter bread. She would give the Easter bread to the neighborhood and her family. She had such a kind spirit and loved everyone.  She leaves to cherish her memory, her children; Tracy (Jim) Jones of Girard, Paula (Rick Racick) King, of Girard and Scott (Stacey) Mihalick of Canfield, grandchildren, Nicole King, Ryan King and Miah Mihalick, great-grandchild, Bryson King, nieces and nephews; Christine (Ken) High, Lisa (Russ) Wolfram, Terry Duganne, Kevin Duganne and Peg (Dave) Glidden, and many great- nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Mihalick, whom she married June 27, 1959 and died December 30, 1999, her sister, Rose (James) Duganne and brother, Joseph Capogreco. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 11th, 11:00 AM at St. Rose church, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
