Mary (Ezzo) Petravich

Ann Marie "Mary" Ezzo Petravich, 90, of Girard.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 26th, 10:30 AM at St. Rose Church in Girard for Mary Petravich, who went to be with The Lord on May 22, 2018 at Hospice of the Valley, Lima, OH after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family.

Mary was born March 21, 1928 in Girard , to James "Wick" Ezzo and Rose Ruggiero-Ezzo. She was a graduate of Girard High School Class of 1946 and the Saint Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1949.

Mary was a tough Italian women with a heart of gold and compassion. She was so many things to so many people. A women who always saw the best in everyone, Mary spent each one of her days caring for her family, and friends, putting those needs and feelings before her own. A more selfless individual would be very hard to find. Her nature was simple, unpretentious and unassuming. Her faith, sustained her and defined her.
After graduating from nursing school, Mary worked as an RN in Florida for two years, then returned to Ohio to work as a RN/Physical Therapist at St. Elizabeth's, and for Dr. I.C. Smith. Taking a leave from her work life to marry and raise her family, Mary returned to work for Dr. R.V. Gracilla of Warren for many years until her retirement.

She leaves behind her children, David of Cortland, Rebecca (Ben) Miraglia, and Rachel (Eric) Weaver of Chardon. Her grandchildren, Victoria Petravich, Isabella Miraglia, Lucy and Lincoln Weaver. Her sister-in-laws Angela Ezzo and Martha Runyan. Her cousins from Brier Hill and many nieces, nephews and friends whom she held close to her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph, her brother Dominic Ezzo, sisters Christina "Tina" Cantelmo and Philomina "Phil" Hogan.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, May 26th from 9-10 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 10:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests any memorial contributions be made to the Emmanuel Care Center, 2 N.
