Michael Shea

Michael P. Shea, 84, of Girard, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2026 at St. Joseph Hospital.

Michael was born on July 16, 1941 in Youngstown, Ohio, a son to the late John and Julia (McGuire) Shea.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Michael had worked various jobs including, US Steel, Youngstown Steel Door, Syro Steel and Predator Trucking.

He enjoyed watching Nascar and cheering on his favorite team, the Ohio State Buckeyes. Michael was a very kind and generous man who was always willing to help anyone out.

Michael leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Helen (Williams) Shea, who he married in 1972; sister, Peggy Testa; along with many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents Michael is preceded in death by his sisters, Jean Barber, Eileen Eusanio and Barbara Baldwin; and brothers, Jack, Thomas and James Shea.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, April 22nd from 1-2 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00PM with military honors.
