Nancy Stephenson

Nancy Colapietro Stephenson, 73, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 24, 2025.

Nancy was born on Aug. 12, 1951, in Youngstown, a daughter of Joseph and Betty Swank Colapietro.

She graduated from Girard High School and later married her husband, Donald Stephenson II, on Sept. 16, 1972.

Nancy was a dedicated homemaker who took pride in creating a comfortable and welcoming home. An avid gardener, she spent time in her yard where she grew several varieties of vegetables, but her fresh cucumbers were her specialty.

Nancy and Donald enjoyed fishing together in Canada, on Mosquito Lake and various other places. She also loved going to the casino to play her slot machines. She liked to watch the TV show “Sex and the City” and was a big fan of the Cleveland Browns.

Along with her husband, Donald, Nancy is survived by her sisters, Betty Colapietro and Gail Kovach; her brother, Joseph Colapietro; and her cherished dog, Lizzy, who will surely miss her.

Nancy is now reunited with her beloved son and only child, Donald “Donnie” Stephenson III, who passed away on Nov. 8, 2015, a loss that weighed heavily on her heart and changed her in ways words could never fully express. She missed him every single day.

Along with her parents, Nancy also is preceded in death by two sisters, Darlene Vigorito and Linda Esposito.

Per the family’s wishes, there will be no services for Nancy. Arrangements have been entrusted to Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.
