Raymond G. Mackey, 84, of Liberty Twp., passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his loving family and family friend, Tracy Finney. Raymond was born October 6, 1933 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Wayne and Dorothy (Griner) Mackey. Raymond had worked for US Steel and later retired from the Youngstown Post Office as a supervisor. He was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Austintown. Raymond enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and would never miss the daily Sudoku and crossword Puzzles. Anyone that knew Raymond said how kind, and generous he was, loving his wife, children and grandchildren with all of his heart. He proudly served his country in the US Navy. He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters; Kathy (Chuck) Shall of Liberty Twp. and Liz Mackey (Tom Amicone) of Youngstown, his grandchildren; Bobby Amicone, Frances (Fiancee Jacob) Amicone, Tommy Amicone and Taylor Shall, two great-grandchildren, Aaron and Logan Amicone, and his sisters; Karen Loibl of Youngstown, Pearl Smith of Florida and Donna Posthlewait of Niles. He is preceded in death by his wife, Della M. (McRoberts) Mackey, whom he married June 18, 1991 and died March 17, 2010, his son, Robert Mackey, his brother, Wayne Mackey, his sister, Beverly Mackey and his grandson, Chuckie Shall. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 30th, 7:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home, followed by military honors. The family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
