Richard William Peck

Dec 22, 1959 — May 21, 2026

Canton formerly Youngstown

Richard W. Peck, 66, of Canton, formerly of Youngstown, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 21, 2026.

He was born on December 22, 1959, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Dale Sr. and Geneva (Hankey) Peck.

Richard was a proud graduate of Chaney High School and later attended Youngstown State University, an accomplishment he held close to his heart.

A true chef at heart, Richard found great joy in cooking and baking. He dedicated many years to the food and hospitality industry and ultimately retired from Hilton as a Food and Beverage Manager — a career he genuinely loved, second perhaps only to Ohio State Buckeyes football.

Rich was also deeply devoted to his Catholic faith and was an active member of several churches throughout his life whenever he was able to attend.

Above all, Richard treasured his family. His greatest joy came from time spent with his children, grandchildren, and loved ones.

He leaves behind his children, Jessie (Paul) Ries, Jonathan (Jessica) Coffey, and JoLynn (Justin) McGeehan; his sister, Michelle (Kevin) Brocious; brothers, Gary (Kelly) Peck and Dale Peck Jr.; grandchildren, Leah, Jameson, and Jemma; great-grandchild, Dio; many loving nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Buddy, who will surely miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents: Geneva & Dale.

A committal service for Richard will be held on Saturday, June 6th, 2026 at 12:00PM, in the chapel at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown, where he will then be laid to rest.

The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life to follow on the same day at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 77 E Lucius Ave, Youngstown, OH 44507 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM.
