Richard G. Powell, 66, of McDonald, passed away at the Cleveland Clinic. Richard was born in Youngstown in 1958 to Robert and Lona (Bequeath) Powell.
Richard was a graduate from Mineral Ridge High School and pursued a Bachelor of Art degree in Business Theology from Westminster College.
His journey through life was marked by his exceptional career as a self-made businessman specializing in selling oil leases.
Described as a true people person with an outgoing personality, Richard effortlessly connected with those around him. His charisma and warmth endeared him to everyone he met, making him a cherished friend and colleague. He was always known as a generous, compassionate person who would give to anyone in need. He supported many charities throughout his life.
Beyond his career and education, Richard found joy in simple pleasures. He loved working on his family's farm, tending to the land that held generations of memories. His passion for collecting antique toys showcased his appreciation for nostalgia and craftsmanship. Richard's adventurous spirit also led him to indulge in frequent travels, with Daytona Beach holding a special place in his heart.
Among those who mourn Richard's passing are his long-time partner Lois Gardner, sisters Cynthia Seifert and Sheri Powell, sister-in-law Connie Powell, and beloved dogs Bella and Bubba.
Their lives have been enriched by Richard's presence, and his memory will continue to bring them comfort.
Along with his parents Richard is preceded in death by his step father who raised him from a young age, Adam Bequeath, as well as his brother Robert Powell.
Private services will be held.
Richard will be laid to rest at Niles Cemetery.
