Rita Bowser

Rita M. Bowser, 74, of McDonald, passed away suddenly on Monday, November 25, 2024, at her home. Rita was born September 3, 1950 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Harry and Betty (Moody) O'Connell.

Rita had worked at various companies as a nurse and was a proud volunteer Firefighter and EMT for the McDonald Fire Department for many years.

She loved reading her books and crocheting, but her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children; Paul (Tracy) Bowser, of Ida, Michigan, Jeff (Heather) Bowser, of Green, Ohio and Trish (Travis) Presco, of McDonald; her brothers, Patrick O'Connell (Maureen) of McDonald and Mike O'Connell (Sheryl) of Greenville, NC; and her sixteen grandchildren, whom she adored. James, Abrielle, Joey, Dylan (Cassie), Madison (Conner), Anthony, Levi, Colin, Logan, Isaac, Ben, John, Emmalynn, Judah, Samson

Besides her parents, Rita is preceded in death by her husband, James P. Bowser, whom she married July 23, 1971 and died May 28, 2006; her brother Harry O'Connell (Georgia), and her grandson Zackere Bowser.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday December 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Rose Church. 

Rita will be laid to rest at Green Haven Cemetery next to her husband.
