 Samuel Tatum, 85, of Warren, OH passed away peacefully at his residence with loved ones by his side on July 9, 2024. He was born on April 29, 1939, son of O. Alfonso and Ruby J. Tatum in Pontotoc Mississippi. Samuel was a man of many talents and passions, He worked as a mechanic and drove semis for Trinity Industry, leaving a lasting impact in the automotive industry. Beyond his professional life he was known for his playful sense of humor, love for wrestling, western movies, culinary skills in the kitchen, as well as camping and dancing (he could cut a rug).


He is survived by his children, Mary Margaret Tatum, Mary Catherine Drawl (husband David), and Lorie Fagan (husband William), 9 grand children and 20 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife and love of his life Mary Margaret (Kincaid) Tatum whom he married on January 9, 1960. He is also preceded in death by daughter Amy Lynn Tatum, son Samuel David Tatum, and daughter Gale A. Law.


A memorial service to honor and celebrate Samuel’s life will be held on July 13, 2024, at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard, OH. The memorial visitation begins at 11:00 AM with a service to follow at 12PM.


Samuel Tatum will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace knowing that his memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved him dearly.
