Stephen Tayala

Stephen John Tayala, age 63, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.

He was born on December 6, 1961, in Warren, Ohio.

He proudly served in the United States Army from 1980 – 1983.

Stephen married the love of his life, Marianne Tayala on December 13, 1984 and together they built a beautiful family and a life filled with love.

Steve, affectionately known as “Pops” and “Opa”, is survived by his wife and best friend, Marianne Tayala; his children, Kirsten Coonce (Todd Coonce) and Matthias Tayala (Tabitha Tayala) and his grandchildren, Deklan Coonce, Remi Coonce, Oakley Tayala, Berkley Coonce and Tatum Tayala. He is also survived by his father, Dale Tayala.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bobbi, and brother, Larry Tayala.

Stephen dedicated his life to his greatest passions, his family and his children’s and grandchildren’s sports. He also had a love of politics and enjoyed thoughtful discussions of it with current events.

Steve will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was known for his booming voice, passionate conversations and warm hugs that made everything right in the world. There will not be any services at his request. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be cherished forever.
