Stephen C. Turner, 72, of McDonald, passed away on Tuesday, March 10th, 2026, after a long illness.
He was born on December 9th, 1953, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Herman and Martha Jane (Hunsecker) Turner.
Steve carried his love for his hometown throughout his life, especially in his unwavering support of the Philadelphia Eagles. He graduated in 1971 and went on to work for many years as a dedicated truck driver for Waste Management, where he built a reputation as a hardworking and dependable man.
Steve enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved playing softball, bowling, and spending peaceful days fishing. Those who knew him best also knew he had a wonderful sense of humor; his wife Frances often said he could have been a comedian.
Steve and Frances shared a love that she fondly described as being like “peas and carrots.” The couple spent over 40 years together after meeting as cab drivers in Doylestown, PA, and they were married in 1991. They enjoyed many happy moments fishing side by side and watching women’s basketball together. One of their favorite traditions was celebrating Frances’ birthday at Red Lobster, where they loved sharing a good meal and good company.
Steve also had a special place in his heart for the dogs he and Frances loved over the years: Daisy, Bosko, and Butler; who brought him great joy and companionship.
Along with his beloved wife, Frances Stella (Booth) Turner, Steve leaves behind his brother in law, Woodrow Booth; and sister-in-law; Linda Booth; along with many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Martha; and his siblings, Jackie, Phyllis, Patricia, Sandy, and Cliff.
