Teresa Venzeio

Teresa Ann Venzeio, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, September 16th, 2026.

Teresa was born December 11, 1939, to Frank "Peppers" and Mary Rainer Tarantino. On June 3, 1961, she married her childhood sweetheart, Carl Venzeio. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three wonderful children.

Known by family and friends as an "Angel on Earth,": Teresa touched countless lives with her warmth, compassion, kindness, and genuine love for others. Her caring heart and generosity will be remembered by all who knew her.

Family was Teresa's greatest joy. She loved hosting gatherings, especially during the holidays, and creating memories that will be cherished for generations. She had a passion for cooking, baking, and canning, and proudly carried on her family's tradition of making the famous homemade "Italian Gold" sausage.

Sunday dinners held a special place in Teresa's heart. These were more than just a meal - they were a time for family to gather, share stories, laugh, enjoy good food, and simply be with one another. Teresa treasured these moments and the memories created around her table will be among the most special gifts she leaves behind.

Teresa also enjoyed spending time at her Florida condo and at Geneva-on-the-Lake, especially when surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She began her career in Accounts Receivable for Blue Cross Blue Shield and at Livingston Department store. While she took pride in her work, her greatest accomplishment was the life she built alongside Carl, creating a loving home, managing their investment properties, all while staying home to raise and care for their family.

Teresa is preceded in death by the love of her life, Carl Venzeio; her parents; her brothers, Frank and Robert Tarantino; and her brothers-in-law, Chuck Zeigler and Ted Bosh.

She leaves behind her loving children, Carla (Jeff) Mrosko, Darla (Johnny) Naples, and Frank (Jackie) Venzeio; her cherished grandchildren, Michele (Justin) Princehorn, Alyssa (Jimmy) Martin, Kara (Bradley) Martin, Johnny (Lauren) Naples II, Jimmy Naples, Vince Venzeio, and Nick Venzeio; her beloved great-grandchildren, Blake, Bella, and Bree Princehorn, Anthony and Gia Martin, and Liliana, Kennedy, and Jay Martin. She also leaves behind sisters, Jan Bosh and Judy Ziegler; her sister-in-law, Darlene Tarantino; along with many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Teresa often spoke about how "blessed" she was. She was grateful for her family, the life she shared with Carl, and the many memories made together. But in truth, her family were the ones who were blessed. They say they are fortunate to have known her unconditional love, kindness, laughter, generosity, cooking, treasured traditions, and the countless memories she created for all of them.

Her greatest gift was the love she gave to her family. She brought people together, made everyone feel welcome, and showed us that life's simplest moments, gathered around a table, sharing a meal, laughing together, or simply being with those you love, become the memories we cherish most.

Teresa will be forever loved and deeply missed by her family and friends. Though she is no longer with us, the love she shared will remain in our hearts. We were truly blessed to have her, and her legacy will live on through all of us.Visitation for Teresa will be held on Sunday, September 20th, at Blackstone Funeral Home from 3:30pm - 6:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following day, Monday, September 21st at St. Columba Cathedral, beginning at 11:00 AM.

Teresa will be laid to rest next to her husband at Belmont Park Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Teresa's doctors, Dr. Kaili Gehrig, Dr. Richard Weitzel, Dr. Zenia El-Amir, and Dr. Carl Peterson. They are especially grateful for the exceptional care provided by Dr. Anthony Casacchia, staff, and volunteers of Hospice House.
