Thomas V Simone

Thomas V. Simone, 68, of Warren, Ohio, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 30, 2026, following a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Thomas was born on May 11, 1958, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Clara (Verina) Martire and the James Simone and stepmother, Peg Simone.

Thomas worked at Thomas Steel Strip in Warren, Ohio, for 27 years before retiring in 2021.

He attended Niles City Schools and was known for his industrious spirit and generosity toward others. He was a true "jack of all trades" and had a passion for repairing things that others may have simply thrown away. Rather than seeking adventure, Thomas found happiness in the comfort of home and the people he loved most.

Thomas found great joy in helping others, especially his family. Anyone who pulled into his driveway could count of leaving with their fluids checked and tires inspected. He enjoyed working on his cars, going out to dinner, finding bargains at local stores, and checking in on those he loved. His greatest priority in life was making sure his family felt safe and secure.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Tina (Russell) Simone, whom he married on August 27, 1983; his children, Thomas R. Simone and Tiffany M. Simone; his brothers, James Simone (wife, MaryAnn) of Poland, Ohio, and Ronald Simone (girlfriend, Sue) of McDonald, Ohio; and his stepsisters, Karen Cesar and Josie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish / St. James Church in Warren, Ohio. Following the service, a funeral luncheon will be held at Marino’s Italian Café, 5423 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, Ohio 44515.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Catholic Charities.
