Velma Morton, 90, of Girard, passed away on Sunday, January 25th, 2026, at her home.
Velma was born on Valentine's Day, February 14th, of 1935, a daughter to Leon Thomas and Della Mae Kellum.
She had worked and retired from Howell Machines.
An avid gardener, Velma found great joy in canning the fresh vegetables she proudly grew herself. She also spent many happy hours playing Bingo.
She leaves behind her children, David Morton, Kathy Stanion, and Michael Morton; along with 12 nephews, 6 nieces, and many great-nieces and nephews.
Velma is preceded in death by her husband, Dwight M. Morton, whom she married on March 2, 1954, and who passed away on February 26, 2019; her brothers, Woodrow (Madeline) Kellum, Marvin (Bonnie) Kellum, Ray Kellum, Clifton (Dorothy) Kellum, Alfred Kellum, Ernest Kellum, and Frederick (Mary) Kellum; sister, Margaret Morton; and nieces, Holly Kellum, Victoria Jenkins, and Freda Morton.
Per Velma's wishes, there will be no services.
