William L. Glass

William "Bill" L. Glass, 83, of Liberty Twp., passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at his home, with his family by his side. Bill was born October 29, 1935, in Cresson, PA., the son of Leo and Hortense (Dashner) Glass. Bill had worked for the Ohio Leather Works for 14 years and then retired from General Motors, after thirty years, as an assembler. He was a member of St. Rose Church. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, and loved fishing, hunting, camping, and his time spent at his place in Holiday Camp Grounds. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Helen F. (Fizet) Glass, whom he married July 2, 1955, his sons, Mark (Donna) Glass, of Hurricane, Utah, and Jim Glass, of Brookfield, his granddaughters, Lindsay Glass, of Dallas, Texas, and Alyssa Glass, of New York City, NY, his sister, Virginia "Bernadette" Williams, of Girard, and his special niece, Lori Glass Bailey. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Petyak, Leona Vinich, Rita Glass, Mary Margaret Glass, and Delores Glass, and his brothers, Thomas, Paul and John Glass. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 21st, 10:00 AM, at St. Rose Church, preceded by a prayer service at 9:30 AM, at Blackstone Funeral Home, in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Bill will be laid to rest at Churchill Cemetery.
