William Kerchak, 76, of Hubbard, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital on May 21, 2025.
William, better known to most as Will or Willie, was born November 15, 1948 a son to the late Michael and Mary (Pietra) Kerchak.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Will served honorably with the 173rd Airborne, a period that shaped his character and instilled in him a steadfast camaraderie with his fellow servicemen. After his military service, he pursued a Chiropractic Degree, a testament to his commitment to helping others. He spent many years as a Sample Technician at Gasser Chair, where he was not only known for his dedication but also for his infectious personality that could brighten anyone’s day.
Will was a man who could effortlessly turn strangers into friends, and his generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Those who knew him would agree that if you hadn’t yet encountered Will, you were bound to enjoy a wonderful story or a good laugh the moment you did. His ability to make others laugh was a gift, as was his knack for finding joy in every situation.
He found great delight in his hobbies, particularly being an avid golfer. Travel also held a special place in William’s heart; exploring new places and cultures brought him immense joy and excitement.
Will is survived by his loving wife, April (Gasser) Kerchak, and their three daughters: Chrissy Kerchak (Phil Chaplain), Missi Kerchak (Jason Luckock), and Nikki Kerchak. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his grandchildren: Bobbi Kukura, Bailey Kirk, Mikaela McKenzie. He also had a very large extended family of brother and sister-in laws and cousins.
To honor Will’s life a visitation will be held on May 27th, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard ,following military honors at 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family asks to consider donations to the Disabled Veterans (DAV).
The family would like to thank the staff at Cleveland Clinic floor G100 and the Veterans home care aides for their exceptional care and compassion that was given to Will.
If you know Will he asks that “fun” attire be worn for the visitation.
