William McKernan

William “Bill” McKernan, 76, of McDonald, passed away on September 16, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospital.

He was born on May 13, 1950, in Youngstown, Ohio, a son to Edward and Jeannette (Beaver) McKernan.

Bill was a 1968 graduate of Girard High School. He went on to devote his working life to the family business, Price Heating and Cooling, where he remained until his retirement in 2017. His career reflected a deep commitment to hard work and to the business that was an important part of his family’s life.

He was known for his very competitive spirit and for the enthusiasm he brought to the things he loved most. Bill was an avid follower of Ohio sports teams the Cleveland Guardian, Cleveland Browns, and the Ohio State Buckeyes, He enjoyed spending time fishing, playing bocce and working in his yard. He was former president of Trumbull THAA, a member of Builders Association, and the Civil War Round Table. Among the accomplishments he took special pride in participating in 2 World Records with his skydiving team, a distinction that spoke to his adventurous nature and willingness to embrace life fully.

Bill is survived by his wife, Linda (Woodford) McKernan, who he married on November 22, 1969, by his sons, Jeff McKernan and his wife, Roni, and Christian McKernan and his wife, Jennifer. He is also survived by his brothers, Jim McKernan and his wife, Linda, and Richard McKernan. His family was further enriched by the love of his grandchildren, Maggie, Regan, Liam, Caitlyn, Kieran, and Lachlan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward McKernan and Jeannette McKernan.

In accordance with Bill's wishes there will be no services. A celebration of life at a future date.
