David J. D’Onofrio Sr., 70, of McDonald, died Saturday, July 18, 2020 due to complications with pneumonia at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. David was born December 13, 1949 to John and Edith (Pascarelli) D'Onofrio. He was a veteran and served in the US Navy stationed in Richmond, Virginia. He also served as a police officer in Campbell, Ohio. David worked for Republic Steel in Youngstown, due to the mill closures he relocated to Florida. There he worked for KMD Ship Repair as a certified welder. He loved to weld and in his leisure time he enjoyed welding figurine like statues for his family and friends. David is survived by his two daughters; Michelle (Donald) Zarbaugh of McDonald, and Danielle D’Onofrio of McDonald, and three sons; David (Rachel) D’Onofrio Jr. of Canfield Derek and Dane D’Onofrio of Florida; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, brothers; John (Kathy) D’Onofrio of Boardman, and Paul D’Onofrio of Cleveland, along with nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jean (D'Onofrio) Schaffer from Youngstown. His most loving and devoted time was spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. Per David’s wishes there will be no services.
