Katherine Rak

Katherie Rak, 96, of Girard, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Continuing Health Care at the Ridge. Katherine was born February 8, 1924 in Slovenia, a daughter of Paul and Katherine (Kodre) Kobal. She moved to the United States in 1951. Katherine worked for the City of Girard for 29 years in the tax department and retired in 1992. She was a devoted member of St. Rose Church and had enjoyed swimming at the JCC. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son John Rak, of Girard and a sister Bernarda Kragelj, of Europe. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ivan, whom she married in 1952 and died February 21, 1960, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 11th, 11:00 AM at St. Rose Church, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Katherine will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests any memorial contributions to made to St. Rose Church memorial fund.
