Philomena Rose Quinn, 82, of Girard, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown. Philomena was born August 31, 1939 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Lawrence and Mary Ann (Carbone) Carson. She had previously worked for Penn Ohio Towel Co. and K-Mart in Liberty Twp., but for most of her life she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Philomena was a member of St. Rose Church, where she had been a member of the Catholic Women's Club. She enjoyed being with her family, playing bingo, crocheting and going to the casino's with her husband. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 57 years, James Quinn Jr., whom she married May 2, 1964; son, James (Yvonne) Quinn III of Austintown; daughter, Marlene (Brian) Putnam of Bellevue, Ohio; grandchildren, Kyle, Samuel, Aaron and Philip; and brothers, Andrew (Judy) Carson of New York and Larry (Mary) Carson of Girard. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her sisters, Rose Miller, Helen Keagy and Mary Jo Carson, and her brother Jerry Carson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 18th, 11:00 AM at St. Rose Church. The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:00 - 10:30 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home on Saturday.
